Privacy policy

Edu Fun Pty Ltd, trading as Edu Fun Australia, respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Contact details: your name, organisation, email, phone and delivery and billing addresses.
- Order details: what you bought and how you paid. Card details are handled by our payment providers; we never see or store your full card number.
- Enquiries you send us, such as quote requests and floor plans.
- Website data: pages viewed, device and browser type, and approximate location, collected with cookies and similar tools.
How we use it
- To process and deliver orders, prepare quotes and handle returns and warranty claims.
- To answer your questions and provide customer support.
- To send product news and offers, if you've subscribed. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To improve our website and prevent fraud.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run our business: Shopify (our online store), payment providers, delivery companies, and email and analytics tools. We also share limited website activity with advertising platforms such as Meta and Google, through cookies and pixels, so we can show relevant ads and measure them. We don't sell your personal information.
Storage overseas
Some of these providers, including Shopify, store data on servers outside Australia, for example in Canada and the United States. We choose providers that protect personal information to a standard similar to the Australian Privacy Principles.
Cookies
We use cookies to run the store, remember your cart and understand how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser, but parts of the store may not work properly.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires.
The Chapters app
The Chapters iPhone app helps Chapters members measure their child, keep a record of their heights and photos, and request the next furniture size.
What stays on your phone. Your child's heights, photos, moments and keepsake books are stored on your phone. You can use the app without signing in, and then nothing about your child leaves your phone.
What we hold if you sign in. If you sign in with your Edu Fun account, the app backs up:
- your Edu Fun customer number;
- for each child: an ID, their first name and their current furniture size;
- each height, with its date and how it was measured;
- each request for the next furniture size, with the sizes and delivery date.
If you also turn on Back Up Photos (it's off unless you choose it), we keep each measurement photo, resized and with location and camera details removed. We don't hold your address, phone number or payment details in the app's backup; those stay in your Edu Fun account.
Why. We use this information to back up your child's height record, to pack the next chair and table legs in your delivery, and to show you the status of your request. We don't use it for advertising, analytics or profiling, we don't sell it, and we don't share it outside Edu Fun except with the service providers below. Heights are used for furniture sizing only; the app doesn't give health or growth advice.
Where it's stored. The backup is stored by our database provider, Supabase, in Sydney, Australia. Supabase is a US company and its support staff may access the service to keep it running. When you request the next size, the app sends our team an email through Microsoft 365 with your child's first name, the sizes, their height and the delivery date. Signing in is handled by Shopify, which runs our online store.
Deleting it. Removing a child in the app hides their backup straight away and deletes it, with their heights, requests and photos, after 30 days. Turning off Back Up Photos lets you delete the photos already backed up. To delete everything we hold from the app straight away, email sales@edu-fun.com.au from the email address on your Edu Fun account. You can see your child's whole record in the app at any time, and ask us for a copy.
Notifications. Reminders to measure and to expect a box are set on your phone; we don't send them.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you by emailing sales@edu-fun.com.au. If you have a privacy complaint, contact us first and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
